Poverty alleviation responses (incl grants) Up one level Including the very successful child support grant. ANC Polokwane resolutions on poverty, education & health care Briefing by ACESS (Alliance for Children's Entitlement to Social Security) on the ANC conference resolutions of Dec 2007, taken in Polokwane, on grants, free education and improved health care. Among others it recommended extension of the Child Support Grant to cover all children under 18 years old. Child support grant The child support grant (or CSG), an un-conditional cash transfer to caregivers of children below a certain age in poor households, has been shown to alleviate poverty and increase likelihood of children attending school, with a probable positive impact on reducing exploitative child labour.
