Contact details: Core team members of TECL I

The programme Towards the Elimination of worst forms of Child Labour (TECL) has been coordinated and managed by a small team based in Pretoria.

The first phase of TECL formally came to an end in June 2008, although various TECL core team members are still working as volunteers. The second phase of TECL (TECL II) is likely to start in the last quarter of 2008, or early 2009.

The TECL team often spends a fair amount of time away from the office, in outlying areas of South Africa or with our partners in other countries TECL works in. We also depend on consultants with a range of technical skills to extend our capacity in various localities.

Core team members listed below can be reached at the specific numbers listed against their names or at the general TECL telephone number:

  • When calling within South Africa: 012 431 8827
  • When calling from outside South Africa: (International code) 27 12 431 8827.

When calling our telephone numbers internationally, drop the initial "0", dial the numbers used in your country for initiating international calls, then dial 27 (for South Africa), and then the rest of the number.

The director of the Pretoria Area Office of the International Labour Organisation, where TECL is based, is Ms Judica Amri-Makhetha, Tel (012) 431-8839, email makhetha@ilo.org. The Acting Deputy Director is Mr Joseph Ajakaye, Tel (012) 431-8819, email ajakayej@ilo.org .
